Powering the world

IPP3, Jordan

573 MW

"By starting one engine at a time, the plant can follow the demand very precisely.”
- Taemin Kim,  Administration Manager at Amman Asia Electric Power Company

Imminent risk of fuel shortage

Quickly growing power demand

Fluctuating peak load

Strict environmental regulations

Multi-fuel engines for natural gas, HFO and LFO

EPC delivery in as little as 24 months

Easily dispatchable engines with high part load performance, suffering zero start-and-stop penalties

NOx control system for emission abatement, close to zero water usage

Cost savings from multi-mode technology; reliable energy output

Quickly operational energy production

Reliable energy output enabling more efficient use of other baseload power plants

Respect for regulations and nature

Right next to a tinderbox lies the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, an upper-income economy ranked with an advanced status by the European Union since 2010. With its quickly growing young population and increasing GDP, Jordan’s rising electricity needs are racing against futile fuel supplies. Historically seen as an energy-poor country, the kingdom continuously imports 97% of its fuel from abroad.
